It is evident that apart from R&R and Xr all the other mobs have boosted up agility and comparatively lesser perception. So my point is, a gunner has to build his setup and upgrade it along with his progress; but a melee player rather has to build a fake gunner profile only for expos and then when his job is done he has to destroy it all for starting an all new melee setup so definitely the melee players are the losers, at least in the initial levels. What is more frustrating is that if someone has already made a tattoo by that time, it's totally useless, because it won't work. On the other hand, a gunner will relish the power of his newly made tattoo. |
You'll find that while melee and even ranged suffer in expos as compared to gunners, they prosper in PvP fighting much easier than gunners will in early levels (unless you're a low level who has friends with big squares). So it's a double-edged blade really.

Thread: [MORIA] Ban for enormous overbiding of duping auctions |
|
So we already can't bid on an item past a certain point without being banned, now they plan on perma-banning for trying to win duping items? I've been both sides of the duping process, as annoying as it can be when it breaks down because others win the items, it's still an open market? o.O Meaning anyone can bid? If someone else has the stones to compete for a duping item, then why the hell should they get banned for buying it?
This is just another tantrum I think, maybe he'll calm down when someone gives him his soother.

Thread: Duping Will Kill This Game |
|
Clem I think he means a fair war :p
As for the duping, tbh it's not as easy as you reckon merging quality gear with duped items. It takes longer, more patience than merging the same quality of item through other means. It was removed and brought back so I think it's safe to say that it's here for good.
I don't think it's duping thats ruining the game, what's killing this game is something that dates all the way back to when Gendibal used to play, but I'm not arsed about getting into that.

You need to try to recognise when a player is simply trying to get another player banned, when there's no malicious intent in the comment.

Hyperion, don't make this about zerkers again please, nothings wrong with them you're just narrow minded.
I don't think changing the valour order is the way to go, I think a nerf to bloodsucker would be better, to bring it in line with the suffixes it is beside.

Think FT's input was a good idea to add, but I really don't see it happening. Otherwise you can merge for example, an Agile Scythe of Bloodsucker which is a great weapon for BK's. But merge it non legendary at a cheap price, get a lucky upgrade streak and SHABAM 50ss in your pocket.

I think ballys right, it's one thing to gain resources in attacks but you should have to put a lot more effort in to hold them consistently, hence the higher cost of defensive buildings

White Lady:
RACE THOUGHTCATCHER

ADDRESS 3 / 7 / 1
CLAN HomeLess Lions
[HLL]
LEVEL 103
You're both TC, so you don't steal his HP, and he does have 7 levels on you, which is 7 levels more to have his potential best gear than you have.
I think the main one so far that's put logic in this thread so far is Nosforano, BUT here's something to think about with his points:
quote: |
to be realistic, Snipers attack from distance and so have more time to deliver shots. This should allow more attacks, 100% hit rate (scopes etc).....takes time for your opponent to reach you for their own attacks (vs melee), takes time for opponent to reach accuracy range (hunters, one handed gunner) |
There are also Snipers on the enemy teams (normally ofc, maybe not in all cases) and as an example, could 1 sniper shoot say 10 or more vampires that are coming towards him at the same time? I don't think so. You could argue that as a vampire they should be quick enough with reloading etc to be able to do so, but then wouldn't the melee vampires with high agility be quick enough to get to you before you get a chance to reload? Shouldn't the hunters and 1h gunners with a mix of agility and perception have enough speed to get into range quicker and thus attack you quicker?
quote: |
Just to add to what Lightboys idea, additional items could be created for snipers weapons.
Things like telescopic sights, laser sithting, tripods, addtional magazine size to bolt onto your weapon of choice. |
Interesting concept, but tbh I think my last point would cover this a bit too. In a realistic world, even with laser sighting, tripods etc, the vampires are meant to be supernatural, so wouldn't they again be fast enough to get to you or even to dodge?
quote: |
Damage could vary from changes in ammunition types each at additonal costs.
Not sure how this would transpire, but Sniper in real life is a specialist role and so much more can be made of it. |
This part I actually think is a good idea, they could be bought like disposables that are exclusively for that tattoo, but then if sniper gets them then 1h gunners will want some and then hunters (which imo is a tattoo that is getting worse treatment than Sniper) etc etc.
EDIT: To lightboy, if we're gonna use logic here for a minute, I have a quick question. You're basing this on damage, number of attacks, HP etc. Here's a couple of questions:
As far as damage goes, logically, who do you expect to do more damage? The Sniper who guns from far away, or the Black Knight who's in the middle of the fight hitting everything around him/her?
As far as number of attacks goes, how many bullets do you think a Sniper can hold?
And HP, well a Black Knight, covered in heavy armour etc, compared to a Sniper who will normally be in light armour to move quickly for better angles, just think about who should have the most HP out of them two. Logically it makes sense.

I've thought about this too but its a bad idea. Daily exp gain would triple (since basils take roughly 8 hours and there are 3 x 8 hours in a day) and item price inflation would triple also. Players in big clans would benefit the most whilst other clans would suffer and get left behind in the rankings. |
Starting as a samaritan = no gains in exp or loot ... ?
the only difference is that you can now always get an expo to join - say the guy who starts in your team is gone that day or w/e other reason that you cannot join, another guidly can host one for you |
Is there a gain for any member in the team? If so, then Batman's point is still valid, exp growth will jump up, meaning even more stones coming into the market, meaning more inflation etc.
|
But thats the same situation with joining as a samaritan - it means more people can start expos and thus more drops.
Samaritan starts just means that everyone can get a join
tho .. yea people could take advantage and flood areas with teams.. but thats what gather the hunters option is for i guess ;/ |
Well there is another way that everyone can get a join, that doesn't involve depleting the mob pool quicker than usual after a reset, and also (I know it's been mentioned) increasing the stone count being circulated in a game, which is letting more than 2-3 people into your expos. And imo I suspect that your idea is a good idea to people who'd rather start 2 expos than take more people in the first.
It's not a bad idea I guess mate, but I don't see a feasible reason for it to be implemented.

If not however, it means that players are spending PoH and People, taking them out of circulation, to kill a mob with no gain whatsoever - which also results in mob depletion and even more resources being used.
Sorry dude, but I think it's a bad idea either way.

Tbf no matter how much thought they put into it, no matter how much they give us, people like you will complain anyway, so why should they keep putting effort into an ungrateful server?
The fact that you can get a free item as a reward for doing something most people already do on a daily basis in this game imo is good, whether the item is good or bad is indifferent, it is still essentially a free item.
And as sausage said, it's just an option, don't use it if you're gonna complain about a randomly generated item

That part of the patch must surely be effecting the polish servers too? Sure there's more active players, but how many people there used dupes to merge their gear?
And how many planned to, and can't now? And now also have to pay ridiculous prices for the same items we once paid a couple of heartstones before? Genuinely one of the worst changes I've seen here since I started. The development team seem to take two steps back with every one step forward o.O
There will be people that quit over this, and I'm sure I'm not the only one wondering if you're actively trying to kill off this server so you can focus on your 'close to home' servers.
Sort it out, take indica's advice per the economics course, or admit your secret plan to shut down the UK server.

Options to make it even remotely useful, are that 1 evo point is worth a fair number of treasure points e.g. 1:10, or that a certain number of treasure points are worth an evo point e.g. 10:1 |

I still think it's a bad idea, it's just another way for players to lucky upgrade their way to being ahead of someone who's actually put the effort into their gear.
The games already turning into a game of luck, this would just be another nail in the coffin for the way upgrades used to be made.
So downvote from me I'm afraid.
