I guess it should be:

Your foe wielded a greatsword which he used as if it was a wooden toy. He struck blows so heavy that you almost got disarmed.

or maybe:

Your foe wielded a greatsword which he used as if it was a wooden toy. His blows were so heavy that you almost got disarmed.
