  More exp for lower players

At Polish forum is this topic: http://forum.bloodwars.interia.pl/thread.php?threadid=1103353

Underworld is 2nd oldest moria server, and we don't have many active players there. My proposition is give for all players under 50lvl multiply exp x3 and under 65lvl x2. Maybe its bring there more active players.

Or just make the level up differences a little bit smaller. For the start i know you can get to level 20 insanely quick but then on it does increase quite quick i think.

Theres a few ways we can try to combat it

I don't think changing the lvl steps is the right solution.

What I do like in Cesarz idea though is that a lot of games practice something like that.

I play EVE Online and they have something like that for started characters where you get a free boost for the first 30 days and you skill two times faster.

I can imagine that a system which would be nice is the following :

At lvl 25 - you get a 150% xp bonus (applicable to quests and ambushes - NOT expeditions) for 1 month (30 days)

At lvl 50 - you get a 100% xp bonus (applicable to quests and ambushes - NOT expeditions) for 3 weeks (21 days)

At lvl 65 - you get a 75% xp bonus (same thing) for 2 weeks (15 days)

At lvl 75 - you get a 50% xp bonus (same thing) for 1 week (7 days).

Something like that isn't unreasonable, I don't think the bigger players would feel cheated if they consider the fact that it will bring more players into their game and a more active player base.

I don't think something like that is too hard to code, it's probably like any premium bonus you get from purchasing a premium option, although this would be for everyone, not only for premium players (or else we get into the whole daddy credit card buying more status debate).

What do other people think ?

Posted by FlashAOD on 12-19-2011 at21:44:

Are you talking about exchanging premium for say a week of 50% EXTRA exp?

Or when you hit these level brackets getting it

No premium, we don't want anyone being able to get extra xp and these kind of things through premium.

No, this is for EVERYONE. You hit these lvls (which can be considered milestones) and you get this xp bonus.

I really think this would help the game to be honest. It has made a LOT of new players in EVE Online stick around and actually pay for their subs after that.

well you wrong understand it my proposition is for helping players faster get 50 and 65lvl for 2 and 3 act.

Posted by FlashAOD on 12-19-2011 at22:15:

Which is where my point becomes valid of it being a TAD easier to level up

Posted by demonfury v2 on 12-20-2011 at01:31:

i see how this could be a good thing, but then theres the negative side of it

players will be reaching higher levels faster than there able to find/buy/merge items to make them reasonable contenders in there level brackets

although giving the lower players a bit of an exp boost would be a great idea, they would get pwned horrendously when they reach higher levels as there kits will be way below par

i think, sadly, in this case the bad outweighs the good

I quite like this idea. Although I could see it from a point of view that, ive worked hard for where I am why should they get it so easy? but for me bringing new players in is a massive positive, hence why I help the lower guys.

I do have to agree with Demonfury here, that there gear COULD, not WOULD, be lower than it needs to be at there level (remember just a few lucky drops and your sorted)

Its hard to say if reaching a milestone and getting a % exp boost for a set number of days would work. However I wouldnt change the level posts, more increase the exp smaller players gain from higher levels to encourage development against the better players. What exp does a Z5 person get at level 20 from hitting say a Z5/4 level 35-30 person? maybe increase this by 1.5?

I like it. Might kick a little more life into the old servers

Posted by Agresiel on 12-20-2011 at20:43:

what they could do is make it so that the POP you gain from task actually becomes EXP

this would benifiet lower player massively whilst still keeping the distance between higher and lower there as to not hand it to them on a plate,

this would also mean there is somethign else for lower players to do in those starter levels where you can do that much in expos except be meat

this would make sure that it only really benifits the lower players as most higher players would have completed them, and due to the way that levels are gained would mean that even mid to high players wouldnt benifit TOO much from what is clearly meant for lower players

just a thought, but even if the is a problem in what i suggested that i overlooked one thing is clear this game has always needed fresh injections into the game we lost 2 more players from the top 50 over the last few days no idea who that was tho

best idea i've read so far ...would make zone 5 tasks more enticing ...i left zone 5 as soon as i saw the task to move to zone 4 ...and i've stopped trying to complete 4 pilgrimages to complete the zone 4 task ...wasting Lgo & failing slows down my progress ...(edit begins here) but if POP from tasks converted into EXP, that'd be wonderful ...newbies want to do expos Pleased

i understand the game wasn't made easy for some of you guys ...but when player #s dwindle, change is necessary to attract new players & keep them playing

would definatly help the server i think...we have so little active playes here Frown

if this was implemented it could(hopefully) bring in a big number of new playeers

anything to liven this server up is welcomed by me

question is: how would you promote this idea for new players?

they won't know the difference between how the game is now and this idea...x3 more pop is not "enticing" to someone who hasn't played before

they dont need to realise it.....they just advance quicker ? and get them enjoying it more, sooner Smile

Posted by Son of Sin on 12-25-2011 at01:50:

if you say so ...same can be said about these events ...when a new player signs up during events, they don't realize an event is going on ...and when the event is over, they notice drastic changes, become angry and...quit

be careful what you ask for ...better to keep/make the game challenging than to pacify new (and old) players hoping they'll become long-time (premium) players...

but something needs to be done to keep the attention of new players ...my generation has ADD/ADHD ...this really isn't a game for everybody ...older people probably enjoy it more than younger people ...but it should be the opposite because BW doesn't/shouldn't take up much of your free time

genuinely a massively amazing idea, would old players get re embursed for this? or would it simple be for new blood?

Posted by Grizly on 12-25-2011 at18:50:

if you really want new players, then
- we must reduce the limits between "multy quest" from LVL 30 to 28, i have a small level character in necropolis and i am now LVL 28 but i am boring to rise my character for 2 more levels, until LVL 25 it's ok... you have quests, tasks... i finish all task in Z5 at 23 lvl if i remember correct, go to Z4 and now i am "stack"... i can't do task, i can't kill no one, try melee and ranged and steel no chances, gunners kill anyone who are in their range...
- at level 30 to 40 you must give possibility to change only 10 stats points (or less and no more that 3 points to add at every stats, or re-balance stats points in limit of 1000 points, this changes don't help in long terms but for next 10 levels you thing you are a king/god Smile ),
- or like was discussed give to lower level player 1 try to change their race...before LVL 45, because at LVL 50 it's too risky, anyone will start with absorber, and after change to beast master Happy )
