I think the problem is with your browser or system, the font displayed on your screen is not Verdana, therefore it doesn't fit.

Firefox 11 and Windows 7 64-bit, wasn't changing anything in settings, so no idea where is the problem.

so don't know what's wrong with Firefox as it seems it's not OS related..

Maybe some plugin sets you line-height property or you have something like 'minimum font size' set.

Edit: I've set explicit declaration of line-height for this box. Try refreshing the page.
