2. Run the program and enter:
tracert r1.bloodwars.net (for Underworld)
tracert r2.bloodwars.net (for Necropolis)

3. Wait for the result to appear on screen.

4. Copy the whole thing and paste it here

Mines backwards to the above issue. I cannot connect while using a VPN but it's been fine for ages.

Posted by Konrad on 09-14-2018 at10:33:

Ba_al, please try these commands (when you cannot connect)

ipconfig /flushdns
nslookup r1.bloodwars.net

and paste results.
Thanks.

Next time if problem occurs, try to change DNS to google DNS: https://www.howtogeek.com/howto/7406/speed-up-your-web-browsing-with-google-public-dns/ and try again with ipconfig /flushall & nslookup (paste output if it still not working). You can also restart your PC after changing DNS and try again - sometimes it helps.

This has happened to me as well yesterday and today.

I am currently running through a VPN to login.

C:\Users\Liam_>nslookup r2.bloodwars.net
Server: dns1.skybroadband.com
Address: 90.207.238.97

DNS request timed out.

I have now changed my DNS to 8.8.8.8 to run through Google and it works, but this is just a workaround, i'd like to go back to my primary DNS when possible.

Kind regards,

On iPhone

Wi-fi doesn't work
4g data works

U guys signed up with EE now to cost me more money?

Posted by Konrad on 10-05-2018 at07:48:

sosolidliam, as you can see, your primary DNS (dns1.skybroadband.com) doesn't work the way it should. You should contact your internet provider or dns owner - the problem is 100% on their side.
Why not using Google DNS anyway? In my opinion it's much more reliable than DNS servers of local internet providers.

makavelli, try changing DNS for wifi connection to 8.8.8.8. We're sorry about that but as I wrote above we have no influence on DNS maintainers.

I'm not sure why this is happening. Maybe some DNS servers hardware/software updates introduces these problems. Or maybe your local DNS is querying other DNS servers which have some problems/outages?

If problem was on our side, you should get something like this:
quote:
nslookup r1.bloodwars.net
Server: local.router
Address: 192.168.1.1

*** local.router can't find r1.bloodwars.net: Non-existent domain

but it's clearly connection timeout, meaning DNS server you're using doesn't even respond.

Edit: It MAY have something in common with recent Level3 outages: https://downdetector.com/status/level3/map/
