Hi BW Devs, I've returned to this game after 2 years and I thought I'd give my views on how this game looks, feels and plays after a 24 month break.

Looks:

The new "Awakening" is great, switched to that as soon as I saw it was an option, makes it feel like a newer game! But there are some faults with it, the latest update was a font change but this has removed the colours from auctions that are ending soon or have already finished. I don't know if this was intended but it makes the auctions harder to read.(1) The battle reports have changed colour too, they look garish now with so many colours, often highlighting an unnecessary line of text.(2) The animated reports are nice but I still find myself clicking to see the text format as it's quicker to see overall stats of the mob, my team and how effective I was.

Buying and selling:

As previously mentioned there is a fault with the "Awakening" skin and the auction colours. I've lost a couple of auctions as I keep assuming that since there is no colour, it's not ending in 15 minutes or less.
When I last played the mob to farm was Agrameon because with the right amount of agility you can dodge every attack and make it a pretty bountiful two man expedition. Now it seems that Bokrug is the biggest exp earner; some hosting players pullling in 1.5m exp per day, compared to 400-500k from Agra. This leads to the majority of the top 100 players farming 1.5m+ worth of stones a day and has subsequently broken the market. Only 1h + 2h melee, jewellery and some kinds of armours still sell for what they should do, or did do, two years ago. The advancement to "Epic" items has also hurt the market as the top 100 players no longer need pieces from the market to upgrade or get better, it's all personal upgrading now. This means high-value items found by players with no need for it or who already have an abundance of stones will sell the item without a starting bid, thus dropping the overall value of said items. Who would buy a P5 Deadly Kilt of the Night for 60k when they could buy all the pieces they need for 5k or less? No one, that's who. I really enjoy merging in this game, it's what brought me back and kept me here again this time. To find out that there's no market for any of my merges, that I'd have to sell them for a few stones and lose greatly on all of them, is starting to push me away again.

A suggestion to combat this would be to have operator-controlled characters or bots (with infinite stones) to bid on auctions that have a starting price and is considered to be on the same price value as other items have sold for in the past. Of the last 10 Deadly Cape of Speed items sold the mean value of them would be 223,164.3‬. With this thinking, future Deadly Cape's of Speed that are priced around the 180-225k mark would get a bid, this would mean many items would start to have value again as they would be bid upon regardless if no one wants the item.

Another suggestion would be to bring in a new feature called the "Merge Master" an entity who would reward you with runes/essence/some other high value item or resource in return for making the item they request. The higher the prefix/base/suffix the more rewards you would receive. This would bring a resurgence to the markets as every single active player would now be buying different items to appease the "Master" and reap the rewards! The "Merge Master" should destroy the item that is created for them as to not flood the market with end-game items for cheap. This feature would allow players to earn a larger amount of essence or runes but with more of a long-term plan, unless a player has been hoarding items, it should be something fun to work towards if you already have a full set of "Epic" quality items.


New players/characters and the problems they face:

I started a new character recently as I wanted to play as a gunner but I didn't want to change my main character. I like the changes that have been made, a little tutorial and guides in messages determined by the level you just reached is massive improvement over how it used to be. The update that removed the "Peace and quiet" messages from Act 1 quests is great! That was so annoying and probably a reason there's so many inactive players who didn't reach Act 2. Buying unwanted items from shops helped me out massively too, that's an incredible feature now!

The Zone 5 tasks are a bit too much to ask of new player, the requirements to upgrade some buildings are out of their reach until at least 25 when they can use the clan armoury. I've completed 5 tasks so far and I've just reached level 31. It might be very useful to tell new players in the "Acquire a vassal" task that they can create as many new characters as they wish and not just to find someone else to play the game too, it should work with the task too. Maybe even recurring bonuses to the amount of characters one player has versus how many of them are active with premium? The bonuses of moving to a Zone 4 square greatly outweigh the benefits of staying in Zone 5 meaning most won't complete all the tasks.

Expeditions. I created my alt so I could power them through mobs and gain a large amount of exp quickly. When I reached level 20, it dawned on me that my main character was level 149 and too high of a level to join. Out of the entire clan, only one player was active and low enough in level to help my alt, but they didn't want to. I left my clan and joined one that was specifically for low-level players but alas, there's still only one player who is of the right level and is active every day. I'm appreciative of their help, but their strength means if I get a Black Dragon or Hydra, although that's good for the exp boost, soon I and them will be too high of a level for them to help and I will be unable to progress efficiently.
A suggestion to fix this problem and I imagine it's a problem for a lot of people (there's far too many level 70+ players who don't have their black dragon badge yet) would be to enlist the help of a "Guardian" a bot who would have the correct stats and health to take on the mob and would do a set amount of damage, say 50-55% of mob health, leaving players who are properly equipped to take on the mob to do the other 45-50% of damage and "earn" their badge. A "Guardian" should only cost the same as taking a player at your level.


I'm sure there was more to add to this but as this has taken almost an hour and a half to type out, I'm gonna leave it here!

Problem description: last night I bought 180 days of premium to change race. After 4 attempts of entering my password only to be logged out of the game each time I tried, I gave up and went to bed. I had no premium before I bought the 180.

I've just tried again and I'm a bit stunned it's already cost me a day of premium. I only have 179 days now but it's less than 24 hours since I bought it. Now you're asking me to spend more money to change race.

Could I get refunded so I can try again with the full 180 days that I only wanted to spend on changing race. I don't have any more money for a week and it's a bit of a joke for a game you love to essentially say "buy some more, try again".

Hey just wondering if anyone knows how much agility you need to dodge wendigo on your own?

I tried yesterday with 850 agility and 118 luck and I died. Someone suggested 950 so I made some upgrades and changes to arcana and tried again with 952 agility and 18 luck and died quicker than yesterday.

So what is the sweet spot because I'm rather confused!!!

Hi, I'm currently sat on 6k treasure points, I don't need resources, all clan buildings are built and I'm not going to waste them on a one in a billion shot of getting something good from the item boxes.

I am however completely empty of green and yellow essence. Some way to trade treasure points for certain essences would be massively appreciated. I do have attack deluxe which helps generate more essence quicker but it's still taking far too long.

A lot of players are now stockpiling stones, some in the excess of 2000 of each type, this is mainly because there aren't many items available to buy.

My proposal is to reward the players who merge items either found or bought from the auctions that then sell to earn stones. And I suggest Merge Points; the amount gained would be a percentage of the stones won from that item.
The player can then spend those points in a special shop to buy merge items for themselves only. Which would work best if randomly generated daily with maybe a special offer at a random hour of the day. They would not be able to add to clan armoury or sell in the auction house unless they merge it with something else.

This would help out a lot of players who are faced with saving for years to afford suffixed jewellery sets. It's not a fun prospect to the game to be thinking at some point I'll have my current set up fully upgraded and I'll have not spend anything for at least 12 months to just afford one piece to a merge IF I'm lucky.

But some people do have the time to merge what others don't have the time to do. It's how I'm on 600ss right now, buying pieces to make a Deadly kilt of the Shepherd, purely to sell because I don't find many valuable items myself and it would be nice to be rewarded for it other than with stones that so many other people have ten times of.

Ok bud I've been thinking about this since I posted it I'm going to go for 4 agility enchantments hopefully get a double, and then 2 extra attacks and 60% Def ignore or keep my 30% and get some extra dodge. What do you think?

My first idea was to only take damage an extra attacks which seemed good til I realised I'll struggle to hit anything.

So I've started to replace them with a mix of agility but if I go for all agility I won't have the damage. So I'm puzzled and would really like some advice.

Hey just a small idea, how about being able to choose what items you find when questing? If you're only looking for jewellery pieces, start one just to find items from that class.

Increase the cost and length of each quest, maybe add a limitation of 5 specific item quests per day?

A lot of people quest and find nothing to use or sell for weeks or months. This leads to items piling up in the armory sometimes into the thousands. Most will only sort that out when they either a) found a good item b) need lgo or c) need mana or nanites.

My suggestion is to be able to "pick" an item(s) from a quest report and it would automatically be in Box 2 of the armory.

Many players don't have the armory space and the option to spend premium on extra armoury space isn't feasible just to get rid of bad items. Currently they have to spend a long time clicking (or for me pressing on a phone screen, having to zoom in after each press is annoying and time consuming) or have to list several personal items on the auctions for 999999999 stones.

I recently bought 2x p5 agile waki of suicide (non-leg) and my agility increased to 490 but I would always miss anything above 500 agility.

So I tried my leg flail an could still hit around 490-500 agility so I ended up selling them.

I'm not agreeing with the idea to change the chance to hit bonus because getting a great 2h weapon is still nigh impossible because of a) how rare useful drops are and b) ridiculously priced because they're so rare only the top elite (like Mr. Nndungu here) can afford them.

Most mid-range Berserkers like myself will still be using a vengeance suffix for some time, changing the bonus will set us all back months and months.

I realised they weren't getting many bonuses, I mean other non-melee tattoos get an extra attack every xx of levels so if they haven't improved BK's by now, chances are they won't. Hence my tattoo change to Berserker, works just as great as being a BK but with lots more agility and damage.

Oooh your celebrating it on my birthday (the 10th)! Thanks for a ridiculously addictive game that has kept me hooked since 2009! I've had an xbox, xbox 360, ps4 and gaming pc with about 50 games on each but I keep on logging into this daily!

When this game was born, questing took forever, so much so you added shortening for those people who couldn't allocate that much time to the game, then quest deluxe to make it possible to do all pilgrimages with just a 3 min timer on each. Very nice, very handy.

Nothing has been done towards ambushing though, yeah shortening and taxi helps but what about when all your attacks have been attacked and aren't available for another 1h 30mins. (in most cases) I don't have the time to wait around for the ability to attack, sometimes I have an missed out on the attack by a matter of seconds. Very annoying. Since I got to act 3, I've tried to get evo's but the time I'm online vs who's available to attack is often very slim and because of that only managed Level 3 Absorb and I'm level 87.

With my proposition of Ambush Deluxe, you could enter your attacks into a list, calculate how long with or without taxi and attack all the players in the list regardless of how long they are protected for.

BUT with Quest Deluxe it's not as beneficial as doing them one by one so my thought to make Ambush Deluxe feasible would be to deny resource taking, only make it for the exp, poh and evo points. No one would be losing or gaining resources. Or even just exp + evo points no, poh. Whichever the devs think would be fairer.

I'm looking forward to reading replies on my idea of an additional way to earn exp and evo points for those who don't have the time to play.

Ok the server idea is now not needed, news to me, last time I was here it was all everything anyone wanted.

This noh has worked out worse for me being level 54 no one needs a meat on an expo so I'm not taken on things. Still stuck on the perc quest having passed it and 3 others before the roll back, 72 quests later only hit it once and failed.


I WANT THE SOUVENIR SHOP BACK!!

For lower levels though I've lost 6 quests (trying to get to act 3) and now I can't even get one of them with the max 70% chance. I've been reset more than 4 days because of the RNG. Plus I've not had a drop since playing that's worth anything, the souvenir shop granted me something I could sell, but now that's gone and I'm left skint again.

For the big players, you demonstrated a solo Wendigo, 600+ points gets you all you missed from the roll back stone wise, the smaller level players need a bigger compensation.

Act 2 can't receive evo points so the next event doesn't matter squat to me and others not in Act 3.

A few days or week of the souvenir shop is the only benefit for low levels, the events don't help much.

I just failed my white (25hp remaining) after getting it from 2 months of trying! I've now gotta waste another noh day trying again! I'm honestly thinking about leaving again as I'm stuck in a mire now!!

I finally did it!! I upgraded it to p+5!!!

NOW I have broken the record for the weapon with the biggest maximum damage!!! Have that Nndungu with your katana! ;D

I can now retire from BW a happy guy.
