Guess I may as well lend a voice to this. I've been around BW for a while, have been in the top 15 of players, and yes, I pay premium and yes I am relatively active, although I must profess that I'm less so now than a year ago and my level and speed of progress has slowed significantly as a result.

I started from scratch, for me the challenge is in the game play. Analogy is buying a recently released game for PS3 and the first question I was asked at the counter was 'Do you want the strategy guide with that ?'. Of course I DON'T! Why spoil something new and untested with a cheat guide that tells me how to win with no effort ?

A lot of the RPG's I've played over the last 15 years or so online have been very much a buy your way to the top and the references previously to that are apt; If BW became that type of place I would leave instantly. That brings me to the first suggestion to level the game

1. Ban Account trading

Life is about decisions, make them and live with them, just ensure the information about this choice and the races is very comprehensive at sign up. I built my character, square and gear from scratch, everyone should do the same so they experience everything the game has to offer, highs and lows.

Success in game and for the game hinges on imagination and innovation. Do you think Blod made No.1 spot by making do with the same gear everyone else was using ? No he spent a lot of time researching what would be his best items and striving to merge them. However, this did highlight one thing;

With the advances everyone has made, particularly with the defence items (something I am totally guilty of!), attacking has become almost redundant, maybe this is why the lower ranked player feel they are farmed as beating higher ranks is hard and people look to the lower end for resources. This brings me to items 2 and 3 of my suggestions.

Resources are scarce. This can make it near impossible, not just hard for lower ranked players to upgrade buildings, leading to a further feeing of helplessness and dis-satisfaction.

2. Resources - allow auction of People and Blood as we do with Junk

Balance out the advances in equipment and what can be achieved by stirring the interest of those who have achieved significant progress in Act2.

3. Release further items of weaponry, armoury and jewellery to address the near impossibility of beating defence items and to provide a larger interest in improving equipment further to extend game enjoyment.

Item 3 specifically targets me as a player with high defence btw Smile

Finally easiness......

I love it, don't get me wrong, but the higher your rank the easier equipment is to wear ? In light of a balanced game this feels backwards to me, things should get harder as you achieve more, not easier, pushing you to strive to attain what you need, rather than having life made more simple and extending the player gap which is how I feel this works.

4. Address the imbalance in easiness – ideas below please as I can’t suggest anything that would be perceived as fair or not result in half of everyone’s items becoming unusable .

1H Melee weapons seem out of sync with the rest of the items/legendary items, just my perception of it and the legendary boost for them does not seem as effective as for other legendary items. This is more of a query to see what others think about that and if they feel it contributes to an imbalance in the game.

Finally I’m sure that many will feel that the acknowledgement by the devs that we are here, complaining, is good and is a step forward!

Done this on a regular basis mate, usually not only emptying my stone stash but drastically downgrading my gear at the same time by being stoopid enough to think that drink will make the RNG like me.

Least you got a couple of pairs of Perfect shorts from it, hehe Smile

I've been BoS since early 2007. Spent spells helping V13 when it first started up, and have spent time helping other clans or visiting many others, including DB and HLL (where I now reside).

Like many I won't stay much longer, I'm sick of the number of good people who have been driven from the game which is quite tragic really.

I've been on both sides of the fence, and don't really care about the Z1 (and for the record there were more than 2 or 3 people who helped build the square) as I won't see any use from it as won't most of the server. My only issue in support of HLL's plan for sharing the square is that it benfits more people, however, this is Bloodwars and has, for many years, been ruled by the strongest players and clans.

That said, people tend to only see in black and white, not the big picture. My personal feelings are only relevant to me and I will keep them that way other than to say thank you to select people who know who they are, if you are leaving soon you'll be missed Frown

I've little to say that's not going to be inflamatory or result in a warning or ban, lol.

We can see who the sheep are, they followed Vlade, despite all the support they've had from Mort and Diablo in the last few years with total disregard for anything other than their egos, oh, and their 3 man expo team. I thought better of certain people.

That said Vlade's idea is nothing new, I've discussed it before in a couple of clans, but the hypothetical destruction of all the best clans/squares was just that, a theory. I said recently to someone, 'if it's not fun then you should leave', even though I didn't want them to go. Whilst this is a game, people still pay for Prem and put, sometimes, stupid amounts of time in. For some ###### (insert whatever you like here that dosen't get me a warning/ban) to try and destroy that, well it ceases to be fun.

There's a few people there who I'd have thought better of, and don't give me the rubbish that is on the clan page, procrastination to give you time to recover as you got a kicking in the first seige you tried. I don't know who came up with the rubiish there but you've never helped anyone for any ends other than to satisfy yourselves and I'm happy to see how united you've made the rest of the server, at least there's a positive from this, even if you've broken the trust of people who deserved better.

Yes, I'm aware this is vague but if I get more specific then you all know the result, needless there are people decided to join who I have lost all respect for, guess they aren't the individuals I thought they were Frown

I look forward to the ensuing results Smile

Taken a while to merge most of this and I lost track long ago of what I merged and spent. Merged all my elvish gear into tigers (at the cost of a chunk of agility) and a few other nice bits into the gear below. Still have some upgrading to do but getting there.

Good Tiger`s Circlet of Adrenaline (+5)
Good Tiger`s Cape of the Assassin (+4)
Perfect Tiger`s Shorts of Dodges

Good Titanium Tie of Accuracy (+1)
Good Titanium Signet of Accuracy (+1)
Good Titanium Ring of Accuracy (+1)

Perfect Light Thunderfist of Hitting
Good Light Thunderfist of Hitting (+5)
Radiating Scythe of Suicide (+5)

Good Runic Kilt of the Strongman (+1) was Good3 until the RNG and beer kicked in Frown

Can merge Field Vest of Speed too, but may go for tigers of speed instead, can't decide which I want most to compliment my sniper set up. Will have to wait though as I can't equip Field Vest of Speed on G5 yet Frown

nah, I just sell a lot of what I find, can generally make a fair bit and I have a nice nest egg for now. As long as I keep selling quest finds hopefully it won't impact me or the clan too much, that said I'm not upping Police Stations to high levels on every swap so it's not running me millions of Lgo every few days.

and you know I'm always happy to swap mate, although I'd lay good odds your square kicks my butt now anyway, lol Tongue

I've helped a lot of people upgrade their squares and never expected payment in return.

If you're talking of goodwill it's about helping friends and clanmembers, not getting paid for having the ability to attain a higher level of build than someone else.

Can't say this will affect my helping out in any way whatsoever.

Idea to help with lack of Expo mobs 12-01-2009 17:29 Forum: Game system

I've heard lots of grumbles regarding the complete lack of mobs available within a couple of days of the reset and that, especially for the lower ranked players or those in Z4, the costs of regen are very excessive.

Even for top players the costs of regen can be 2-3K PoH which is a huge chunk.

My proposal would fit with the current badge system.

You currently are limited to going for a higher mob by the badges you possess, but can join any level expo as help. I suggest a reverse system, stopping you starting expos on lower ranked mobs (say 3 less than your current badge allows) but still allowing you to participate as help on any expo.

This would give a tiered expo system, and would aid the lower ranked players by potentially reducing the number of people who can go for any mob as they progress through the badges. If you're happy with your level then you don't need to get the next badge until you don't get enough points from the mob's you can hit.

I know this will not go down well with many but figured I'd float it anyways as many people I talk to are struggling to even begin expos.

Let the idea bashing begin..............

Well, another patch no-one wants, that we will protest about, and no doubt be ignored over.

This patch serves no purpose whatsoever other than wasting the time and money of the devs that prem accounts put into the game, when they could have done something useful for us.

I'd love for a dev to finally respond to one of these threads in a cogent manner and explain clearly the reasoning behind what has been done!

I have to say on face value this seems to be a reaction to someone having taken the Z1 square and they are trying to restrict points gains from expos by in effect getting rid of 1 on 1 PoH battles (which was supposedly going to be a patch anyway but, surprise, never came, so we improvised).

This is, IMO, the death of this server and BW in the UK. Hope the Devs are happy with the income from the other servers as this just reinforces my reasons for leaving.

yes, I'll happily concede that there is always a possibility that we may end up with someone worse, but, if the person selected comes from the current player base, they will, at least, have experience and understanding of what the issues are that are being raised!

The overriding complaint voiced on these forums is that the players here are ignored and if they are acknowledged, there is a lack of understanding about what is being requested/raised.

A dev/admin, who plays here, would have a better chance of understanding, answering and addressing the issues raised than someone who comes here occaisionally and doesn't even play this server.

For that matter, if Sez creates an account and plays here for a few months, and plays the other servers, then maybe, he'll get an inkling of what keeps being raised and the general unhappiness of the players here and their treatment.

hmmm, having taken my head out of my ass (which smells like roses btw) I still have better grammar and make more sense than you!! no shock there. Mort and most of the people here have better grammar than you even though it's not their first language. My guess is you're some jumped up teenager filled with angst, looking for a role models ass to kiss.

If you'd been looking at the forums for 'years' (yeah, right) you'd know about Gendi, Mort, Diablo and many many others, what the reasons for these posts are and why these opinions were held and you'd damn well show some respect to players who've been and gone long before you showed your pathetic face here.

As to the slinging personal insults, well hey, I'm leaving so if I get a ban, so be it, but check back and see who lost face and respect in the first place and started slinging it first? Raxis, I completely understand if you feel the need to ban me, but I cannot stand by whilst solid members of the BW community are slated by some ignorant noob!

When you can construct a sentence and have coherent grammar, come back and maybe people would listen to you, provided you can show you have the slightest clue as to what you are talking about!

If you want to sound intelligent use real words

neither patronisination or underestiamtion are words that exist in any language.

As an admin it's not a case of if he 'feels' like giving a response and therein lies the problem with this sever, we PAY for the privilege of deserving a response.

You're nothing more than a suckup, trying to pretend to be intelligent, but using poor grammar and non-existant words. Face it, the penalty here was unjustified.

As to your comment about leaving if we don't like it, when you're here with about four other full time players, see how much attention you get from the devs then.

yeah, who are we but the people who PAY to keep this place going??? what right do we have, having paid premium, to challenge crap decisions????

you're a sheep, sucking up to the admins. We have EVERY right to challenge any decision which is unfair, after all, we're the ones financing this place!

Pushing is out of order, no argument, but as a seller, why should we be expected to analyse the reasoning of a buyer as to what they paid for the items we sell???? We don't know who bought, why they bought and why they paid what they did! Not having access for more than a couple of hours per day, I often bid in excess of an items worth to try and make sure I get what I want, that is MY CHOICE and no one elses.

what a lovely question!

How much is too much???

If you get a great price for a peice of gear that you sell, is it a push? simply someone really wants it, or something more sinister?

I have lost most of my access to the point I am selling up to end my time here on BW, if I get a great price for an item I sell, do I think someone really needed it for a merge or it's a push. How the hell do I know? I've paid over the odds for something simply because I can't get online during the day and it's the only way to try and ensure I get the item I need. I'm arranging to sell my gear and is that pushing or simply agreeing a sale as per the sellers thread on the forums?

I don't know Flash but eve has always been totally straight up and as for the admin side I have to say the acknowledgement/support on this server is very poor. I'd be interested to know how many people are paying their premium and what impact on BW the loss of all this money would have on the other servers if everyone stopped.

I'm, to all intents and purposes, done with BW as I can't give the time to it, and, there is a total disregard to the UK/European players on this server, but I think that it is time a full time player is made a dev/adim, someone who will be listened to!!!! Also, when I finish, if I decide to put all my stones on a single purchase, THAT IS MY CHOICE! and if whoever receives them doesn't report it they get BANNED? how fair is that, I inadvertently gift them and get them a permanent ban, that is just stupid. I PAY for the right to blow my stones/lgo on whatever I PLEASE!!!

I would suggest someone such as Diablo or Mort as an admin, as they support any player here who asks, but to be fair, any of the top 01 - 15 are fair and suitable candidates who know what this game needs and what is best for the development and fairness of this game!

My rant is over, I'll watch with interest as to whether when i quit, dropping all my stones on a single auction purchase is going to cost someone their access to BW. I sincerely hope not!

I've auctioned a few things recently and have had some great bids on them for large amounts of LS/HS/BS, only to have someone come and bang a higher bid in at the last minute.

I know the facility exists to limit the stones that can be used but I'd like to see an 'Accept Bid' button on the auction so if you've got the perfect bid and don't care about it going higher then you can just take it. (Kind of like the 'call off' button in a seige but for your auction).

Not sure if anyone else will think this is a good idea but figured I'd throw it out there to see Pleased

I'm guessing that's something to do with the Polish server, read something that there were 'bots' working over there, due to the lack of mobs, to jump on expos as soon as any were regenerated.

I'd assume the devs are trying to make it fairer and give people a chance to get expos going, especially as it's getting harder to find Golems and the bigger mobs as more people comlete the expos.

And here we go again, this is getting well out of order for those of us that are payng to play this game.

Twice in 2 days the server goes out, not amused. This 'again' may not be the dev's fault but neither is it the players, and yet again, people are about to loose out on expos and other parts of the game due to this. I'm waiting to be accepted to help friends out in an expo. Never mind everyone else affected.

Sorry, but we are paying clients and expect a reliable service. If your Server provider cannot guarentee this then you have a problem and I want my premium refunding for the downtime!

So we're still going all the way back months to what has been said many times before by every decent player who has had enough.

It's a choice of putting up with a second class, second rate game (compared to the Polish servers) or saying enough and refusing to pay premium or leaving totally.

Question is do you like the game enough to stay, pay and play? It's cheaper than Warcraft Wink

I'm sick of the Devs ignoring anything and anyone who isn't Polish but I have a choice, I don't have to stay or pay. Can't say I'm not tempted to stop premium but unless the whole of underworld do it it won't make any difference. Even then they probably won't give a flying f##k.
