Artoir: Starting from the beginning again? Yuck! Don't think I could face that. It would be too weird to be a little one again after building up such a nice collection of equipment. I'd say it's impossible not to take BW seriously though, so no surprises there! lol I'd love to have stayed and just log on every so often...but I just knew that wouldn't happen!

Sound advice there Dooz. I pretty much did all of the above tips as well. And setting yourself goals is definitely a must, whether it be points, badges or rankings. I used to pick the banned/inactive players above me in the rankings as benchmarks. They don't improve in points, so it's handy to work towards passing out Vampire X and then set your sights on Vampire Y. It can be more demoralising if you are chasing an active vamp and they start pulling away from you! lol

Meh, BloodWars isn't about being No.1. If it was, we might as well all have quit, except for the Top 5-20 players (realistically Top 5). There's so much the game has to offer in terms of enjoyment, so acquiring a vast amount of points is not an indicator of your contribution to the great gaming environment of BW in my opinion.
You don't have to use every quest and ambush to be a good BW player, or take part in every expedition you can. If you are loyal to your clan/allies, helpful to all those who ask for it, kind to your friends and honourable to your enemies, then I think you can be considered a good BW player, irrespective of your ranking.

Well, we all have our different styles of play. To be at the top, you have to let the game rule you, rather than the other way around. And that's not necessarily a good thing. Nothing wrong with the way you play it and I am sure you are respected as much as most of the top players. Congrats on reaching 100 points

I don't deny I miss the game. Especially the expeditions. I'd love to have faced up to some of these tougher monsters (particularly Romulus and Remus). Unfortunately, time is the issue. I have too little of it at the moment to waste it on a game

Lestat: Yes, it is unfortunate that you are now finding it hard to get your early badges, but this is a price you pay for leading a clan (I think Mortis found this out in BoS - took him ages to get past his Black Drake badge).
Evan: Glad to see you got your Hydra badge at least. Nice one
Minshres/Cthulu: Hmmm, Evil Counsellor eh? I like the sound of it, but I fear my counsel is not wise enough to earn the title. Crazy 88 sounds like a good name for a clan. Hope it takes off. Remember Tainted was slow to get going as well, but we had it good eventually (until I threw in the towel anyway! lol)
Tiger: Awesome siege and cool expos (damn you!). And you know the only reason you can 3 man those Golds now is because of the new arcanas!
Oh, and many congratulations on your Arachne badge...second on server?
Faceater: I didn't intend to be mean about your thread. It just seemed to me that a thread started by a guy and called "Girls and gaming" was only ever likely to deteriorate into a bitching contest between feminists and chauvinists. Of course, any thread that provokes a debate (whether positive or negative) is a good thread.

Fascinating. It really was a brave decision to switch. I'm glad to see it is paying dividend.
And I have to say, I'm intrigued by that Romulus and Remus expo - I never realised that you could get the badge just by slaying one of them! It's weird to see someone else lay the final blow in an expo and the leader still get the badge! lol
Now stop showing me cool expos or I'll start wishing I was in the game again!

Well then try and make a go of the Alliance War! You could all try and run it over a couple of weeks as a competition to see whether the BoS or DB alliance rules BW. It would be a fabulous challenge to see how each side distributes their forces between the various clans to try and give themselves the opportunity to win the most sieges. And it might even shake up the order of the Big Two for a while...
Btw, I hear you lead a clan now. What's it called? How are ye doing?
Oh, and you can be sure that if I do end up on that island, the only time I wont be raising a coconut to you will be when the bottle of rum is empty and I've passed out on the beach again!

Well, the very best of luck with that. I think anyone that can beat a Radiating Mace of Vengeance a high proportion of the time without using melee weapons deserves a round of applause!
Btw, how is the career change working on expeditions? Do you lower your defence to get higher perception, or do you just use a sniper rifle or some such?

Dooz: Wow, that is nothing short of awesome man! I cant believe you can get nearly 400 defence now! I always found you one of the hardest people to beat as it was, but you must be nigh on impossible for melee fighters now. Can the Radiating Mace of Vengeance even take you? Probably, but that is an extreme case
Lestat: Of course I know who you are, probably more through the forum than ingame, but I was well aware yourself and Lys were brother and sister. The expo thing seems a bit dodgy alright, but my limited understanding of it is that the expos are only harder when you have high ranked players with you. So, if you stick to those players of your own ranking, you will still find weak White and Black Drakes...or am I wrong? If that is the case, then it is probably a positive thing, because it prevents lower ranked players from getting their high ranked mates to help them get the first few badges.

Well, it may just be a dumb suggestion (and unlikely to take off in any case with the aversion to action shown in the game), but how about an Alliance War. All top clans clearly state whether they are allied to BoS or DB and start sieging each other on a regular basis (either Type 1 or Type 2, doesn't matter). BoS and DB cant send their members to every allied clan to help and if they do, well they wont be the top 2 clans any more...

Longest rounds ever or something to that effect? I saw someone mention that in the fun clan thread. Sounded like an amusing idea. I wonder if the server would crash for a 10 round 30 v 30 siege of 1h gunners and Shuri users! lol
Btw, interesting that Ndungu is no longer a Sniper. I see that Zeruel's old character seems to be using melee weapons now too. That's the two best high defence Shotgun wielders gone now! :/

That's a shame man, but I'd be one of the best placed to understand that decision. To play BW well, it eats up a serious amount of your time and work certainly starts to suffer! lol Hope your bro carries on the morals of the Knightroad character. Although I just cant imagine a Sniper Knight! You'd have had that pesky Black Drake badge in no time if you had been a sniper...but it wouldn't have been half as satisfying as slaying it with your Murderous Mace!
Right, mission objective for your glorious return is to ride in on horseback, wielding your mace once more and take Knight's Templars to the very top!

lol Ah well, it's no longer the Evil-Eoin character. And I think my win:loss ratio was more like 5:1. I posted all my final stats somewhere on the forum anyway, along with badges and nice expeditions/fights/sieges.
Hmmm, seems he hasn't been on in around 2 weeks. Hope he hasn't left the game again. If he has, I'll have to ask Evangelion to get his password and hand the character over to someone else...don't wanna see it lying idle.

Seems a bit fairer now on the expedition thing. Guess it means you cant rely on your high ranked buddy to help you get your badges. You have to do it the old fashioned way, with a bunch of similar levels. Very clever merge by Scy. Possibly one of the best merges ever?
DR: Yeah, one of my regrets from the game is that I didn't get the chance to reform Tainted and make it as strong as myself, old Scyanide and Hyper always wanted it to be. It was fun while it lasted though
And that means Coles has only made 27 points in the two months since I left, sigh! Is he not very active or something?

Cheers for that nice little summary DR. The new expedition stats look nothing short of shocking. OVer 100 perception and 200 agility for a Whitey? Crazy stuff. Are they that hard for a team of lower levels or is it related to who you have with you/what Act you are in?
I'm surprised there aren't more badges about. I thought someone would have Romulus and Remus downed by now. This server is still a long way behind the Polish servers on that count!
I'm not surprised that Tiger and Minshres are doing so well. Good on them. Tell Coles to get the lead out of his ass and pass them out again! lol
The new race sounds cool too. And lucky Scy for finding a Legendary Sniper. Bet he's nigh on unstoppable with that beast. How are you getting on yourself?
Edit: And thanks for that God Like. Good to see how the Top 10 is going. Did new Caprio quit or something? He's dropped off an awful lot from what I remember. Some nice badges. So someone does actually have Romulus and Remus after all. Well done Vlade!

Hey guys and gals. How is everyone keeping? Sorry I haven't been back sooner to say hello - I'm a busy little bee the past couple of months! I'm sure you haven't missed me much in any case!
So come on, make me jealous about all I have been missing in the wonderful world of BW! Did Patch 1.1 breathe new life into the game or do ye still have the same old complaints. What's the best Legendary weapon out there now? Cesarz still ruling the roost? Any cool high level badges for me to see? Any good wars since I left?

Edit: And thanks Lysandra. I was only in DARK for one day I think, but outside of Source and DB, it was one of only four or five clans I was ever in. Never was much for clan hopping! Best of luck leading DARK to the top...well, second to Source perhaps

Yup, you could do it with a Murderous/Caring/Shining Mace/2h Sword of Plague/Vengeance...but that wouldn't be much use for a BK now would it?
