lol, seriously?? only way I can be sure is if I spy everyone, but I'm not about to spend all day/week spying in the hopes of finding the end of the rainbow...
I can say that I havent seen anyone below top 100 (maybe 150) with that kind of resourses...
None of my characters have ever had 100mil blood, my main has just under 30mil (at rank 162)...

to quote you again "They will be very simple mini-tasks and no active player should have trouble completing them". if I have to spend a lifetime looking for something that probably doesnt exist and still have to succeed in ambushing after that, I wouldnt call that simple... and doubt most active players under top 100 would find it easy either...


And I also prefered the old attack list order,
It was always easy to tell who was ranked higher... but the most valuable info from that list is now gone (ie. who was hit most recently)

This was one of my quests for my lvl 104 character... who btw has never recieved that much from a single ambush ever!!! And if my main has ever done so I cant recall it... certainly not something I'd expect as a daily occurance...

Also had "destroy a rune" as a quest... refreshed that one immediately so cant remember the "bonus" from it (think it was bp)... but there's no way it was worth it whatever it was

My main got "start 3 quests"
lol, balancing issues are to be expected on 1st day of patch, but I cant even find the word for how broken this feature looks so far

Can you give more details on what's considered a "low-value" item?
Is it based on lgo value only, or does it factor in wether or not the items have prefix/suffix? (I know affixes affect price, but some useless items can have greater lgo value than useful ones due to item lvl, etc.)

300tp instead of items? Really? Why not just give us hammers if you want to give useless prizes...
At least the items from prizes guaranteed a prefix/suffix, I've spent 600+tp to get a short bow (no suffix) too many times to even bother trying anymore

It's not so simple to just remove a boost to exp gain.
Even if the boost was proportionately the same, higher mobs gave more "boosted" exp, so higher level players gained alot more boosted exp than lower levels. If the boost remains constant it's not a problem, as every player would have the same opportunity to take advantage of that boost, but by removing it after so long, only the highest players will ever see the rapid grow they had... newer players (or 10+year veterans like myself who just havent had the time to dedicate to playing as consistantly and have lagged behind others who've played as long) will now require ~150% more time to reach the stage of current high level players.
This is an old server, its been 10 years since act 2 launched (7yrs since act3), thats a pretty long time of accumulating boosted exp.
You've made efforts to help newer players "catch up", but they're dwarfed by the shere mountain of time it'll take to "catch up" to our server's rank 1 player. Nndungu has over 1mil points (and I'm sure other servers have higher lvl players than that), even if I could earn 1mil exp a day from day 1 (about 5 or 6 times what I'm getting now at lvl 112) thats still nearly 3 years to reach Nndungu's current lvl.
Crudely speaking, you can essentialy say 33% of Nndungu's current exp was from the "boost" (assuming the boost gave +50% exp as it appears to have), so even with the scenario of earning 1mil exp a day that's gives nearly a year of playing just to match the "boosted" portion of Nndungu's exp.

Do you expect me to play another 5-10 years to reach current top player levels?
Actually catching up with high level players will be impossible now unless they quit playing for several years.
Please reconsider the implications of removing a boost thats been in place far longer than not.

I really does seem strange to reduce the cost of training but charge people for the change, but I do acknowledge that accurately caculating what people spent on training is impossible due to the free stats from lvl-ups (unless it was tracked from the beginning, wich I highly doubt was the case).
The math really fails to show any sign of logic as to where all the pop went given training costs are so much lower at higher levels.

Also would love to know where the logic comes from on the reduced exp from expos. Surely reducing potential exp gain, after such a long time at higher levels, will, in effect, increase the gap between low/mid and high level players.
Relative lvl gain remains the same so the arguent that we gain lvls faster now is irrelevant. The time it will take to gain the exp that high lvl players have already has greatly increased. Based off the expos I've seen over the last few days, it looks like ~33% lower exp gain, which means ~150% of the time to gain the same amount of exp as before the patch.

Edit: Just to clarify, there's lots about the patch that I like (particularly the push in ranged tattoo paths to specialise in light or heavy) so I'm certainly not rejecting it as a whole. I just cant understand the logic regarding the abovementioned issues.

Thankfully I gained more than I lost (I'm assuming that was a refund from the reduced training costs), but without explaination for the lost pop it just seems like robbery.

Is it related to the apparently reduced exp from expos?

How would any change to training costs (esspecially a reduction) affect how much pop (basically exp) you've earned?

I'm going to presume that spending your PoP before the patch shouldnt make a difference. If the recalculation is based off the new level/training system it should give the same relative value either way.
But keep in mind that, as has always been the case, if you spend PoP before a level up that gets you free stats, you increase the (potential)value of the free stats, so given the fact that you will also gain multiple levels with the patch, you should probably spend them anyway.

I am assuming some key details though, so I'd definitely prefer some clarification.

Bit nit-picky I know, but I just realised why it looked odd to me; if it's meant to be a "lucky horseshoe" then it's hanging the wrong way. If you turn a lucky horseshoe upsidedown (as with the icon) then the luck spills away, leaving just a normal old horseshoe, which really makes no sense for BW Tongue

1. The problem doesnt exist because the devs hae made continuous effort to prevent it from happening.

2. There are plenty of quality of life options (like shortening, armoury extention, etc) that bring more revenue for the dev team without compromising the integrity of the free to play ethics they have maintained all these years.

3. Caravan deluxe was always a prem option. Basic caravan wasnt changed from free to premium, it simply doesnt exist anymore (supposedly due to issues relating to the app, but this is not the thread for that discussion).

Does nobody else see how continually adding features that are exclusively for premium pushes the game away from being free to play?
Eventually it would become "free to play" a "trial version" of the game, but essential to pay to keep up with players who not only get more daily actions (a decent advantage, but still only just that) but who can also reset their character to capitalise off whatever new changes are made.
I appreciate the work the Dev team do, and I buy Prem when I can to support them. But alot of what they do is try to maintain balance between different races/tattoos etc... so I appreciate their efforts by playing the game as its put before me. Complaining that a new feature makes your choices seem like mistakes is kinda disregarding their efforts no?
Yes, we all make some poor choices, live with them. If everyone has to do the same its not a punishment, its just (non)life. If only non prem players have to live with it, it becomes a punishment only for those who dont/cant pay.

Race change and tattoo change were added before we had multi accounts, whats the excuse now?

I very specifically never said "pay to win".
I said it has "pay for advantage" options. Extra attacks/quests dont guarantee anything, you still have to go through the same process as non prem players to get anything out of them.
My point is that continually adding features that are exclusively for premium players pushes it away from being "an advantage" and towards being "essential". At which point it becomes "pay to play".

And yes Ba'al, if you take over an account it's pretty obvious not every choice made will be what you would have made. If thats a problem for you, dont take over an account. Make a new one!

We play on a multi account server. If you want more play styles, make more accounts.

If you dont enjoy the grind, why are you still here, BW is a grind.
And adding evo reset wont change that.
If you want a faster progression rate push for a speed server, thats way more relevant.

Next people will want a full character respec; "I earned all that exp, why cant I respec my character, I'd have done it differently if I was aware what I'd want now"

Kinda agree with Myrkul,
Not sure if adding more "pay to get advantage" options is of any benefit to the game.
Personally I think its gone too far already.
You have the option for multi accounts now... if new accounts have such an advantage, make a new account.
The more exclusively premium based options that are introduced the closer it is to "pay to play".
I'm not in a position to purchase premium at the moment (not going to explain how/why, but its simply not possible. Money is not the issue), but I always did when I could. But the necessiy for premium is getting greater and greater.
Even questing kinda requires premium now that caravans are gone.
If you took over an account, stop being lazy. It is what it is, work on it!
If you change race/tattoo, you're already getting a huge advantage over non premium players so get over yourself.

If BW had half the exclusively premium paid options when I started playing (+10yrs ago) as it does now, I dont think I'd have stuck with it.

Just my two cents.

I'd like to suggest maybe encouraging heavy ranged weapons for Demon Lord... if it's the tank of the ranged classes, wouldnt it make sense that it used heavier weapons?
Maybe alter the amount of bonus attacks for heavy weapons only.
+1 atk/60 lvls feels kinda shitty; +2 at lvl 120 isnt terrible, but needing lvl 180 for +3 seems nuts.

I would be inclined to agree about the Evos being given a reset option though...

If you save a resource, rather than spend it, why should you be punished for that?

I imagine IF evo points can ever be purchased with TP, it'll be expencive, so who cares if someone has a bit of an advantage when the option is given?

My alt character just reached act 3 and earned his very first enchant.
Even in this situation it still says the usual "all fld points will be lost" when you click the save button. I risked it anyway and fld points were not lost, but this was still misleading and needlessly worrying. This could to with being made clear without reading patch notes.

Also, I would like to know if the free save applies only to the very first enchant, or do you get a free save for the first enchant in each location?

I dont understand why you need to explain anything more than you already did about caravans... do a caravan, recieve less drops per quest. If people cant understand how that is "bad" they wont do well in bloodwars anyway and probably wont play long enough to unlock the feature to begin with. Some people are happy to loose out on drops to get more exp and treasure points.
It was very useful when going through pilgrimages for the first time. Repeatedly waiting 30mins to get "peace and quiet, what a boring journey" truely is boring. Caravans at least made it less tedious to engage with.

Hope you realise the game is gradually becoming pay to win/play, which will cost you many of the playerbase you have left and discourage many of the players you hope to gain through the app...

10 years of playing and speaking well of BW due to it not being a moneygrabbing game... not sure how much longer that'll last now
(PS, I live in Vietnam these days and have no way to purchase premium from here due to being unable to make international payments, including paypal, so caravans are now entirely inaccessable to me)

From what I understand, FLD points only affect the type of enchants you get, not the amount of enchants. Never heard anything to suggest otherwise... so as with every other drop in this game "yes, you rely on luck to get something good"

Not a real issue, but I just noticed that when an item is upgraded to Epic, the image for the item reverts from the "Perfect" range to the "Normal" one.
Surely they should at least stick to the image for a Perfect item...

Quick question about Resilience... when you say it counters ignore defence, does this mean that it directly reduces the opponents ignore defence or is there some other way the mechanic is applied?

I also agree that we need another means to gather evo points considering the massive cost for epics (and lvl 5 evos to boot).
Also 5k mergestone?? Come on... I doubt I've even had that many stones altogether (about 240k bs from exp gain so far) and I'll likely have to spend that much just to get some items to Leg p5 before I even worry about epic upgrades (so far I've only had 2 successful P5 upgrades).
Its nice to know there's something to work towards, but I'm not into 10year plans, especially in browser games. Not everyone has a big clan to support them... :/

Only enchants I changed lately was from +20dmg to +1dmg/4lvls, so that would bring my dmg up anyway.
But I'm pretty certain that change was a week before the earlier attack anyhow

I can see that his stats are different here, so not sure whats different in his setup, but his def is basically the same here so figured it would make an ok comparison. (Note; I'm not using ambition in this one)

As I stated in my first post, my opponents defence earned a 2% ignore attack bonus (meaning ignore approx. 8dmg), not enough to make up for the loss of dmg. (100def = 1% ignore atk)

What do mean by additional critical mod?
I had the same evos and my crit dmg bonuses are from my weapon and tattoos, and my crit % should be the same in both also (although that shoudnt effect crit dmg)

The problem is also in how much my damage was reduced for non-criticals. So crit dmg is only part of the problem

Unfortunately I dont have any other reports at the moment.
But it isnt the first time my damage has looked off (just the most glaringly questionable), so I'll post up here if/when it happens again.

But it's not just the crit damage that seems off... how can 170def lower my non-crit dmg by ~110?! Without ignore defence even factored in, it shouldnt be possible to lower it more than 43... (~50 with ignore dmg from his def)

I already figured out why I wasnt getting the math to work out (as stated in my "edit" note, I forgot about hp from runes).

I may sound a bit sour, but I still think its pretty misleading to say "base hp+X%" but have nowhere to view what base hp is... (unless you remove runes and enchants!!!).
I also cant find anywhere in the tutorial that mentions what "base hp" is or how the hp+ mechanics work.


Suppose the Life and Death talisman might be usefull in expo if you had no other hp bonuses, but I feel like it barely has any affect.

I've got a crit rate of 328% so how are my crit hits so low???

700 is nowhere near 328% of 325...

In this fight my non crits hit with around 400dmg (+75dmg) but the crit hits are about 600dmg stronger than the first example. I also dont have ambition active in this one so my dmg should be at least 35 lower.

I cant make any sense of this at all...

--- I use ranged so dmg is only reduced by 1/4 defence, so how can an additional 170 defence reduce my dmg by so much? (Ignore 2% of dmg only counts for around 8dmg) If I take into account the +35dmg from ambition it means I was reduced by an additional 110dmg. This is way more than should happen overall
---I also have ignore 13% defence, so this makes things even more questionable

I might have solved my math issue, but a confirmation is appropriate in my opinion.
I also think the bonus is basically worthless, and I still feel like "base hp" needs to be viewable somewhere, otherwise its misleading to refer to it.

Problem description:

Was testing my talisman setup for Life and Death and I cant understand my hp in the expo...

In throne room I have 4698 hp, (1718+2980 from enchants)
I also have lvl 4 Absorption (+1500 hp)
I have 23 Breath of Death with Lvl 2 Life and Death. This should mean hp+92%.

In expo I got 7641 hp. But I cant understand that result...
Without BoD or L&D I get 6198 hp.

This means the hp+92% only gave me +1443 hp.

Even if my base hp doesnt include any other hp bonus I should at least get 1580 (1718×92%).

I was expecting ~11900 hp (6198+92%). Can you please fix this, or at least explain if I'm going wrong with the math?

Edit: Ok, I forgot to account for 150 hp from runes... so the math for +1443 hp works if my base hp is taken as 1568...
This still seems strange if my hp in throne room is 4698 though (I would consider that "base hp" at least)

If its a case that as soon as the premium was bought one day was already spent to enact premium on the account(meaning only 179 available to "spend"), I agree that's a bit shitty. There should be a short buffer period where you can choose to spend premium or enact it.
