Levels 1 to 20 are too boring.....

After just starting again i can see why many little players dont bother to keep going, been playing non stop (no prem] for about a week now and there is absolutely nothing fun to do, quests even the shortest take 5minutes...attacks a minimum of 4 minutes so i have to sit for 60minutes to do my quests and 32minutes for attacks and thats at best. i think until level 20 odd shortening and prem should be free as it will encourage little players to keep going and even encourage them to get prem when they do reach level 20 Tongue

i think that if you don't like it, it's tough, why should it be changed? That's what the game is the whole way through, long and slow, so why give people the impression the game is something that it's not?

I agree, GT. What chance has a new player got in the game if they don't stay for the first 20 level because it's "too slow", or "boring"? This would be painting a false image of how the overall aspects of the game are played.

The devs have designed this in such a way that it takes years to get to the likes of Nndungu's level, or Blod's. It just spirals back to the old reason: time and effort is what's needed throughout your character, including low levels.

It's meant to be slow and boring; in my opinion, that's the beauty of the game. There is a rush, however, and you want to advance your character faster, but training "slowly" has more benefits.

Have to say I agree, the game is all about the long run, your not going to be amazing within a few months, far from it. If the first 20 levels fly by, how will you feel after that when it goes to how we all know it? all it means is you get more people play to level 20 then quit, rather than quit at level 1.

i mean as in you cant expo, you cant use the auctions and you wont be motivated at level 15 to get more premium, once you can do things like these and have more of an understanding of this game things really do get more fun, i remember my first account, getting to use a shruiken of reaction(+5] was the more exciting thing ever!(at level 35 odd] but until level 20ish there really is nothing, is giving them premium till level 20 really such a bad thing Confused

but now, its the same routine everyday, i have barely a chance to get anything good in 200 passed quests ive got lots of basic items i can just buy from the shops, big things include a shirt of the thief and a radiating mace(take note, im not complaining myself, thinking about the next generation Tongue

people who can be good but choose to follow a different game will do so and make their choose in the first 20 levels ish so if they enjoy it then, they will want more premium and continue playing, lots of level 20s are better than loads of level 1s who dont even play

agree w/ thread starter ...but no game should pacify new players either ...zone 5 is filled with more weaker players than equal players ...the problem is this: if difference between levels is less or equal to 3, players are able to attack each other. this should not apply under level 20 ...there's nothing more boring than clicking through zone 5 looking for "equal" 8 times per day, or 4 times per day if you wait to ambush 4 equal players twice per day ...and with premium ...16 per day doesn't make the game less boring for new players ...it makes the game boring much quicker

good idea......currently i sit in 5/595/11

my nearest target is in 5 / 599 / 4 especially when i have a bad computer it is extremely annoying to trape through all the different areas just to find someone i can kill, using rankings is no use as most people are miles from me, no way am i waiting 1 hour 35 just to attack a nobody Tongue

after that the nearest is 5 / 610 / 8 all makes a big difference, if i hadnt had fun playing before id be disappointed by now

Work harder... sooner, played my character for 7 months and without blowing my own trumpet not many people my level can beat me and I own alot of people higher than me. Game takes time, patience and skill, if you lack these it ain't for you

its nothing about working harder this thread.....its simply getting to level 20 and having a good time doing so....at that time auctions and such become available and make the little ones time better and therefore more likely to stay....this is just to give them a starting boost which in no way makes it unrewarding etc its only to like 6 points.....using your philosophy you will only ever attract actual gamers

Edit, have you ever looked how many z5s there are, if i did move id simply be no closer than i ever was....z4 is fine.....another thing unlocked at level 20. It is also kinda pointless moving z5s as you shouldnt be in them long! Tongue

though they may not know this Wink

I think in a way Swift might be right, but instead of giving free premium up to level 20, maybe Cezarz's thread holds a better solution?

More exp for lower players

This way the new players can get the perks of level 20+ faster, and thus solves Swifts query..

as Swiftenza said ...there is no "closer" in zone 5 ...too many squares ...and um to siege a square, you either have to click siege to find out what it is or read the tutorial/forum threads ...which i can confirm, most new players do not do (read) ...i didn't siege a zone 4 square until i was level 30+ ...i didn't spy until i was level 40+ ...so the best advice is not to siege a square that's "closer" to 1-2 equal players, if you've constructed buildings in your original square ...new players don't want to construct new buildings either ..."hard work" is boring to lots of players ...that's why they siege squares ...but new players may not know what to do or how to do what they want to do...speaking of which (this is off-topic) ...a fun thing to do with 36 hours of premium is spy & ambush anyone w/ lots of Lgo, buy junk and trade for pop/stones when that option is available ...i recently (last week) found out about this ...this should be in the beginner's guide in bold letters & caps for new players who visit the forum ...(edit:adding more) give new players something to look forward to, trading to get brand new (used) gear & jewelry Smile

...just imagine what it's like for new players who do not visit the forum ...sending messages to random players to trade junk Frown

It takes a few days to complete all tasks in Zone 5. After that move zones. The reason Z5 is filled with "weaker" players is because people create an account, do a quest and say: "this is crap" then bugger off.

As a new player you are starting with 3 days of free premium to give you an idea what you will receive for your money. More surprising is when the initial 3 days rans off and you suddenly don't see / can't access certain features.
Also if I remember correctly you can reach almost lvl 15 within these 3 days.

how exactly?

check how long i've been playing, that's attacking each day 8 times/12 quests/

it's not fast. I dont fail many quests/normally all attacks get through i win....10/12 quests a day i do with success/ about 6 attacks

Also, he did say almost, I think it may well take a day or 2 more than the 3 days, but still, this sets you up for the game, if someone cant live for a few days to hit level 15 or even level 20 when the whole world of options opens up to them. Will they really be patient enough to wait months for that 1 special item for a merge? I doubt it, its a long haul game and I think this has to be taken into account. The first few levels are what you make them, I used them to understand the game, plan how to do tasks what items id want etc etc.

people wont realise that the game gets "so much better at level 20" though...maybe some reminders from "ortis" could do the trick? he could constantly give advice telling the players what to expect and how to prepare each time they click the page it changes?

E.g. "At level 20 you can access the auctions and experience real power"

As i think ive read before, If someone gets bored waiting, say a week to get to level 20 theyre certainly going to be bored waiting 6 months for somet to come up on auction to complete a Jewelerry set or waiting 12 months for a merge piece

Maybe we should warn them that the sets theyll learn theyll want will most probably take years to complete?

Patience is a big part of this game and waiting to get to level 20 is a mere drop in the ocean compared to some stuff and is a basic test of the commitment
