Maybe a stupid question, but.. what effect have ignore defense in guns when their damage is decreased only by 1/2 of toughness? Then it should have no impact right?

It decreases the remaining "-" to dmg. For example sniper rifle always attacks with full power and shotgun is decreased by 1/4 toughness.

I quite don't understand you. The tooltip and tutorial says that basic guns damage is decreased by 1/2 of toughness. There is nothing about defense, so why the guns should be affected by it?

e.g.
hunting rifle 40% ignored defence damage 17-27 lets assume 22
thoughness 40
22 - ( 40 / 2 * (1 - 0.4 ) ) = 22 - 12 = 10
might be wrong number calculeted in the head

Math is right, but the logic behind it seems wrong according to tutorial.

he means it is half for sniper because this is ignoring 100%
it is ignoring 1/4 for shotgun because is it only ignoring 50%

If only 50% is ignored instead of 100% then the other half should be affecting you, so it should be more than 1/2 not less. But if the tutotial and ingame tooltip says, that guns damage is decreased only by 1/2 of toughness, please explain why are you still putting defense into your calculations?

i think it is that
example toughness is 100 (easy number to use)
some imaginary gun does 100 exactly
half of that is 50, so 50 damage is taken off, and 50 remains
if this gun ignores 100% of defence, then i think this means that the 50 removed damage is still done
Then if i understand rightly if it is 50%, then 25 of the damage is done
so if the gun ignored 50% of defence, the gun would ignore 3/4 of toughness.

u have show your defence show in throne hall and this is item defence + your toughness and this is defence against melee weapon
defence against gun is only toughness and this defence is ignore
