how about a league format like champions league, with all who are interested, put 1 or 2 players in charge of fixtures, limit the points per clan (quite high but not massive) play each of the teams in your group of 4 once, best clan in the group goes to next lvl, until there is 1 clan left, the WINNER, gets bragging rights till end of next tournament
those that break the rules instant loss to that side, points could be like 1250 points to 1750 points, rising by round

Would never work, too much merc-ing would go on, and essentially it would just be the same two teams under different clan names towards the end of it.

I like this idea, but agree mercing would be a problem. Perhaps there could be some kind of handicapping system?
I think this would work better as a individual tournament to be honest, although the chances of anyone outside of the top 10 winning would be pretty slim. Perhaps there could be sub tournaments/prizes for each tattoo or race?
If there was a way to get the clan version working I think this could be huge, but I can't think of anyway of doing it without setting points limits per team.
