for the first expidition, use the shorts you normally use, a cap of sheperd/precog/prophet/sun and if you can afford it shorts of sheperd. use a sniper rifle until your sure you can use a hunting rifle. if your looking for an expo then go with some higher levels, althpugh that can make the expo harder, and then see how you do, generally you need about 60+ perception to do well

Mele assassin gear - essential before lvl 50
cap of adrenaline you wil wear for a long long long time
elvish shirt/CAPE!! - cape would be much better but for sure elvish prefix as it rise your crit chance and gives most agility from all prefixed armors
elvish shorts (btw there is no elvish set) agility agility once again agility
Jewerly for start would be amulet/chain/tie of accuracy if you can get it do it
and better to have both signets and bracelets of strenght (cheap but you can swap them for ambushes and defensive fights)
as for weapons murderous/antique knife/dagger of hitting/valour would be just sweat but there are slightly expensive so light/serrated/ dagger/knife of hitting/agility basicly anything that gives betwean +10 - +15 agility at +5 or more and have 2 attacks
As for a assassin shooter expedition gear
headgear of precognition is a must
sniper rifle is also a must is it ignores 100% defense- essential before you get 2nd badge
elvish xxx as armor would be good as sniper requires agility to wield the weapon but if your perception vs white dragon is lower than 70 (with disposable eye of a cat) then you can try to get hunters armor to get more perception and rise your chance to hit dragon.
shorts of shpehard
jewerly with wisdom
After lvl 50 you should be familiar with merge list and try to merge/buy amulet of levitation and rings of youth (strenght and agility in one)
if you will have elvish cape then you can try to max it out if you will have something in less efficiency then you should try to merge elvish cape by yourself (sufixed one if you can with assassin suffix would be nice)
for the pants elvish/flexible shorts of shadowhunter/dodges/night
although night suffix will require quite a lot stats from you
and as for weapons after lvl 50 when you will be able to wield them at +5 essential would be light thunderfists of hitting/courage.
Of course this isn't a concrete builded guide but overal hints how your gear should be look like before and after 50 lvl

Not necessarily. I have used a hunting rifle from the start and now do better than some snipers around my level in expos. A sniper is handy at the start but seeing as how assasin tats are almost built for a hunting rifle id say its the best bet as soon as you can equip it. The 3 attacks mightnt do as much dmg as a crit from a sniper but from my experience it is better becuase if you miss that shot the round is wasted.

Hunting rifle is better... UNLESS yo ucan get a shirt of speed.
If you cna get hold of precognition and Shepherd shorts then use a sniper rifle and xxx of speed, then you'll be fine for perep when you buy eye of cat

from my personal only experience hunting rifle for assassin is usefull for high perc defense gear or for wolf king task (sniper with speed armor is more or less useless from what i experienced)
So maby if someone train himself as a gunner assassin then i agree hunting rifle is handy but for mele type assassin expeditions with perception mobs is better to complete with sniper rifle

Though an assassin should be a melee player with guns as support.
Sniper with speed is good, especially if they cna get the third attack tattoo

Then that would make the player a sniper then raxis
And assasin dont have to be primarily melee, im primarily an assasin gunner and i do fairly good

surely the best gun for an assassin is either the hunting rifle or the ak-47...... however of the 2 only the hunting rifle will be of any use on expo's

once you get better then you can use an AK, i seem to remember a while ago [a long while ago] a expo in which artoir accidently took a AK and owned the dragon, and he was a very good assasin

|
|
|
He had high perc and def, it was his def equip thats why he demolished it, and it i remember correctly ot was a wd, pre act2/patches
The hunting rifle is a must have for any assasin at the beginning of the game, and especially for a specialised assasin gunner like me or crash(i think)

Though an assassin with a shotgun is probably going to be pretty effective too

Actually the best gun for assassin (with good gear) isn't hunting rifle but fn-fal
And leg fn-fal considering act 2 is just perfect one.
With solar set and deadly set assassin with fn-fal can deal crits around strong 350++ (5 attacks)
When i had leg fn-fal (and i'm really crappy shooter) my overal all weapon dmg was +18 tattoo and assassin suffix and 41 knowledge.
Weapon dmg on throne hall was over 100 per shot and crits was like 220+
With ak you can spam with bullets, with hunting rifle you have that perc bonus aswell + crit chance boost, but in case of pure power fn-fal with his dmg can be more deadly than 2 shots sniper
I did few test after this discussion and i bought both hunting rifle, ak and fn-fal.
To be honest i was better with fn-fal and i get my first white dragon with fn-fal in hand (actually i miss clicked in armory
)

Fn fal is good for dmg but assasin gunners rely on crit chance and perc. If you are an assasin gunner with high crit and perc without hunting then yea the fn fal (legendary) would be great, especially against melee
i want one now

Ok so I got both sniper and hunting rifle, will see which one works better, am working on some nice cape (for now it's of assassin).
Now please tell me which shorts are best for me to use, have those of silent moves, flexible, of strongman and of the rogue (but those have too much defence for my tattoos). So which ones should i upgrade and will maybe come in use in the future? Or is it better for me to collect some stones for elvish or of shepherd (but this would take a really long time in my case)?
Oh, and the punishment effect - is it useful for stronger vampires? For now it is a blessing for me

Shepard is a must for any gunner. Do you need any other stats up, i.e to equip other items?
Edit: I mean in relation to shorts

Maybe a little more strength would come in use but I can as well get it from a better ring. Shorts just for agility and reputation, unless there are ones that give perception AND strength in addition to those two?
So shepherd for white dragon, but as for ambushes, is ther any combination of prefix and suffix that would give all those four stats, or at least rep, agi and strength?

You're probably not going to find any that gives all because only Strongman gives Strength but it negates the agility on Shorts and then prefixes like Velvet work but they bump the Level requirement up a bit,

Punishment = good if you can deal high damage without the helmet against stronger vampires but a deadly xxx of perception thing works pretty well
For shorts i would say try light/Short shorts of Shepperd/Sun
Sometimes the sun ones go for low prices around 2-3 LS
And shepperd ones you might find from 1 MS around

I wouldn't bother with that. Since it'll make the level requirements higher and thus the shorts are less useful.
Shorts of shepherd are great.
But for agiligty maybe light shorts of silent moves

Agility doesnt come into play until higher up, and even then its to equip jewellery etc... Shorts of shepard are they way to go, sun is a decent substitute until she can get shepard

Agility if you are melee is always in play. That's why I made that suggestion, since it's not too hard to get/merge.
However yes you want Shorts of shepherd, despite the fact they reduce defence. Sun are actually harder to equip due to higher strength requirement

Reduced defence is a must for assasins as even slightly high def negates tats

Well you can play with them even without the reduced defence, just have to pray and hope a little bit. Because you cna still have some defence as an assassin.
But the main reason for shepherd over sun is the percep boost is supremely better

Ahh finally got that Skirt of Shepherd for exactly two bloodstones
Just one new thing to love in Christmas: items go so cheap as noone has time to bid on auctions...
I personally don't have any problem with the low defence as my criticals (and my tattoo is only level 2) win me most of the battles after two rounds or so. And I guess high agility works even better then any defence

Nice xD agility isnt really needed, it might be handy now but later it is only needed for equipping items, that is if you are a gunner :p

But I guess that's the point of being an assassin - one set of equipment giving agility for melee ambushes and another one with high perception to go with the rifle for expos. At least for now it works for me.

Sorry to hijack, but I had the same perception as the dragon and 60 defense.
So yes, If you are assassin, you max your crits (30 from tatts + Elvish + anything else you can get your hands on) and use deadly prefix, you can easily get crits of 200 with an AK. Perfect if there is some melee players who's agility you can't match

Ok I'm back with new questions. As a woman that loves shopping I need to be told exactly what to buy or I'm afraid I'll just go and get the first shiny thing there is on auction.
my gear
Good Mask of Adrenaline
Light Cape of the Assassin (+4)
Good Necklace of Accuracy/Titanium Necklace (+5)
Titanium Ring (+5)
Titanium Ring (+5)
Good Shorts of the Night
Good Light Dagger of Hitting
Antique Knife (+5)
gives
DAMAGE
2× 80 - 81
2× 74 - 75
STRENGTH 56
AGILITY 140
at level 52.
So, firstly, is the mask worth keeping until I can wear it at Good +5 (level 65 is pretty far away, plus then I'd have to get a suicide weapon so that my tattoos still worked) and get the punishment effect, or better spend the stones for some other (what?) stuff?
I just bought my first Light TF of Hitting and in a few hours I'll put it on (big, big moment), and I'm wondering what else to buy to replace the Light Dagger. On auction there are two Murderous Daggers of Hitting that look appealing to me and I could buy for a SS+, but I could only wear one of these at normal +5, so I don' know if they're worth buying and degrading by three levels.. If not, at what other dream weapon should I aim? (I'd really like something with + to damage as the TF will decrease it, but then agility is what matters the most..)
As for jewellery I'm pretty much set on getting two rings of Youth for starters, then suffixed titanium (how the hell does anyone get these parts?!). The Cape I'll upgrade as soon as I can wear it at +5, for now it's ok I guess (but maybe elvish..?), and I don't know whether I should change the shorts.
And I'm still an Assassin, with the first two tattoos lvl 5. Slowly working on the third.
Oh and one more thing I'd like to know: is dancing set any good? I see it gives agility but the parts go pretty cheap so I'm confused. And what about elastic?
That's all... I think. Any advice appreciated

The mask is worth keeping In fact Im looking for one to replace my cap G+5. I use Cruel of Vengeance. But my Assassin melee set is for attacking gunners mainly beacause my shorts have too much defence (Elvish of Rogue). I used the dagger above and found it worked wonders on unsuspecting gunners (especially with 101 rep). If you can get merge cruel of Suicide that would be better (extreme damage).
Do you still have horned cap of punishment on a side note Im interested.

have you though about swapping out antique knife for light dagger of courage?
it's not as good in the begnning, but it soon catches up agi wise, and the reqs are insanely low, old assassin had one on P + 2, i'll look for the stats, but high agility at low lever, its almost a must for the epically low reqs, change the shorts out for elvish shorts, if you've got problems hitting things and not with the damage, then swap out titanium for accuracy, and if you're rich, titanium of levitation ;p
Perfect Light Dagger of Courage (+2) CLOSE
One-handed melee weapon
Damage: 22 - 23
Effects: Chance to hit +32, attacks per round: 2, AGILITY +41, all weapons damage -7, CHARISMA +13
Requirements: LEVEL: 46, STRENGTH: 47, AGILITY: 74, INTELLIGENCE: 30, KNOWLEDGE: 29
Selling price: 27 600 Lgo
Value: Nanites 944, Mana 1593
like i said, low reqs, high agi, and a nice bit of added charisma

Shorts of the night give 1 more agility on all levels as far as i know mate just less defence and slightly higher requirements, id prefer the 1 more agi than the defence as defence doesnt help with + to hit

elvish with lower reqs means can be worn on a higher level hence forth balancing out the agi+ and you have some more defence
