Sweet Misery
Her screams echoed over the luminous treetops, as she felt the pain surging through her veins draining her of all the life she had, but not her death. With the sun slowly setting in her view, she gazed up to this man that once blessed her with a happiness she never knew.
Blood dripping from his chin, he looked at her with his hollow eyes, with much regret. Cupping her head in his hand, whispering the only words he could think of “I am sorry”. He turned towards the setting sun, gazing then fleeing deep within the oncoming night, leaving her slumped and breathless gaping at the sun.
She slowly closed her eyes saying “goodbye my sunshine”, falling into a deep sleep of sweet misery.
