3vs3 ranking

Problem description:

Top ten 3vs3 ranking in our server:

1. Nndungu CULTIST [BoS] 4323 15 / 3 / 0
2. ICECREAM_AN THOUGHTCATCHER [D.B.] 4317 13 / 7 / 0
3. Ba_alzamon CULTIST [D.B.] 4290 9 / 5 / 0
4. CESARZ ABSORBER [D.B.] 4273 1 / 1 / 0
5. Vlade CURSED ONE [BoS] 4265 17 / 3 / 0
6. Lightboy01 ABSORBER [BoS] 4249 19 / 3 / 0
7. okruszek THOUGHTCATCHER [BoS] 4238 14 / 8 / 0
8. makavelli ABSORBER [BoS] 4229 18 / 2 / 0
9. Mortis ABSORBER [BoS] 4209 14 / 8 / 0

As you can see there is an important issue in how rankings are calculated, as the player in 4th position has only participated twice and has won 1 fight. 5th has won 17, 6th has won 19, etc.

This is either a bug in the implementation of calculations to elaborate this ranking or a design flaw. In any case it should be fixed.

Not 100% sure how it works, but it might have something like the clan one does?

The (sad) problem with arenas on UK is that there are not enough players to have a fully-fledged arena Frown

. Believe me we are hard at work on global arenas but until then you'll have to trust me that the calculators are working properly.

Then maybe do something about it? To increase the popularity of the server...maybe iPhone app or advertise it a little better? New server? Listen to the people who've been playing the game for 7+ years and who realise what it needs before it dies out completely...

Maybe you should lose some small number of points for each round that you don't participate in. That would prevent someone from getting into a high position early in the season and then just sitting out to maintain that high ranking.

Hello Szeszej,

As I told you there is a problem with rankngs. I have waited for a few weeks to see the evolution, and it is pretty clear to me right now. Since I opened this thread, I have won 12 fights and I've lost 2. I was in rank #6 now I am in rank #17, even though I have 31 wins in total, more than anyone else in the server but White Lady (who is in rank #26).

I can see people with more loses than wins that are in a higher position in ranking (!) and there are many more examples that show how this ranking has serious flaws.

As I have already explained in other threads the problem is not with the ranking system itself but with the low population we have here. I once again have to promise you that with global arenas this will all be fixed but I need you to be patient for a little while longer.

In the rank #16 there is a player who has won 11 fights. I can see 13 players below that one that have won way more battles.

As a starter, a small fix would be to apply bowmore's suggestion, although more things probably need to be done.

Szeszej, as you can see if you take a look at the current ranking, the problem is still there. I gave you the solution long time ago, it is easy to implement.

1. ICECREAM_AN 4487 12 / 4 / 0
2. Blodsugare 4368 0 / 0 / 0
3. White Lady 4340 23 / 3 / 0
4. Makavelli 4336 24 / 4 / 0

Now please explain how after 28 fights, Blodsugare is the 2nd one of the server. I can tell you, you forgot to detract points for each player not participating in fights. If ICECREAM_AN wants to finish 1st the only thing he has to do is not to join or start any other arena for the rest of the season.

Easy to understand.

Easy to fix.

Now please go tell Konrad and fix it, it is rather frustrating to be active and see how inactive people gets rewarded :/

Hi,

lets make it clear:

1. - You want them to be demoted so AT THE season END they would not be ranked high if not participated actively?

Yes/No?

2. The present system is to ensure that person will not sit inactively LOSING rank and then participating and winning every fight. That would result in quick rank increase and TON of Arena points.

To solve both problems I would rather opt for a post season points loss.
Basically at the season end inactive player will lose 10 points for each arena he was missed.
This will impact only LADDER and will not influence Arena fights balance (high levs will remain high during season) forcing them to fight against equal opponents even if missing some fights.

why dont you just do it the simple way

like a football table win you get 3 points draw 1 point loss 0 points

and at start of every season everyone reset into alphabetical order

We will add a feature that will subtract 10 points when you do not participate in 3v3 arena.

Still it will be a bit of work to make it thus we do not know WHEN it will be ready as it has low priority.
