R1 - server crash

Hello
In short, the server holding R1 has crashed and the problem is very serious. The latest backup is from 19.09.2015 and so all the progress in the game will be reverted to that point. We understand that this will be incredibly troublesome for all of you so as a compensation:

- when the server is back up, all auctions will be extended by 24h
- premium accounts of all players will be extended by 10 days
- all premium services for all players will be extended by 10 days
- we will activate Night of Heroes from 24.09-27.09.2015. The event will start at 9 AM.

We are terribly sorry for all the inconvenice this has caused.

How the hell can you have paying customers and not have nightly backup??

So the 4 am daily backup is just for show ? Its just a message but it actually doesmt happen ?

I'm glad i'll get 10 days prem for loosing a p5 upgrade which costs over 200 ss.

Definitely makes up for it.

And what if the 4am daily backup is also corrupted? that would explain why they have to go back so far!

I, for one, am much more interested in what caused the crash in the first place, and what they are going to do to prevent it happening in the future!

Although, I wouldn't mind some free expo passes too!

Any idea when the server will be back?

My guess is that the daily backup is just a daily one kept on the same server, and they do weekly backup stored in a different location.

Any ETA to have the server back & running?

Yes, the daily backup has been corrupted and we are unable to use it. That is why we have to use the 19.09 one. I know this is very unfortunate but the issue is independent of us.

could at least offer people 2-3 free runes of their choice...

arena points lost
pop is obviously lost,
stones lost
upgrades lost
enchants from KOTH lost
runes lost
quest drops lost
evo points/evos

some prem doesnt help for any of this, and the night of heroes is nice but really does nothing for over half of that list...

when stuff like this happenes devs should do everything in their power to appease their playerbase esspecially from a dwindling playerbase game like blood wars

my advice would be to give everyone

2 free runes of their choice/ random
200 free evo points (50 perday) which is normal
night of heroes as planned to make up for stones and pop loss
extend all arena buffs for 5 days
cant do anything for koths- maybe 1 free enchant roll
maybe 1 free upgrade
bonus 50-100 luck on quests for a day

just a suggestion to solve all the trouble you have just caused

oh anyone want to redo the customer survey ?

Unfortunately, according to the terms we all agreed to, (guessing most like me didn't/haven't read them) we aren't entitled to anything. So I guess we should be grateful they are offering the compensation they are. Whilst it's annoying (I upgraded something to p3 today for the first time) there isn't anything they are legally required to do :/

I called it! Sounds like a server error - there is nothing the BW team can do about it - be thankful that they have apologised and given us 4 days of NoH.

Patience maybe, understanding certainly not. I had managed to gain 2 lvl 2 talismans. Now i'm back to all of them lvl 1 and 5 runes missing.
Lost a p5 upgrade.
Lost a few drops.
Lost evo points which honestly I won't get back cos I don't have the patience and time to do 16 attacks every single day while last few days I found the motivation.
Lost auctions and some merges I had done.
Etc etc

And it is for this kind of stuff that we pay 9 euros for 180 days of premium which if you actually play with all the shortening, deluxe options, armoury etc basically lasts a month and half. Over 3 accounts now, it's 27 euros every month and a half. It's more than I pay monthly for my fiber optic ISP and cell phone combined.

For this ? Getting 10 days prem and some NoH ?

We have often said your customer handling of the UK server was at times poor but this beats records.

It's a very poor compensation for all the s*** done Frown

I like to play bw but after this my lvls of motivation are very low, like everyone else I lost drops, runes , EVO points, merges and so on. I'm really pissed off.
