Phoenix expos

does anyone else thinks phoenixs are to over powered for just being the 3rd expo monster. not only does it have a garnuteed hit with soundwave but it has fireball then its normal attacks so it gets 12 attacks per round which kill whole partys in one round.

and then to top it all of if you manage to survie it does same again in next round thats beyond a joke.

does anyone else agree?

i think you should reduce the amount of times soundwave gets used per round from 8 to 4.

It has low agility and low hp so it's not that hard to kill...

And remember that nobody's perfect. You can't kill all the expedition mobs with just one setup Wink

i know that but i been in red, gold, hydra ,noble, and archine expos and they dont trip out on special attacks like that phonix does. every expo with a phoinx does same thing. a 12 hit round followed by any 12 hit round and that was one of the nicer expos lol.

thats why i surgested that soundwave gets reduced to 4. its already got the garanted hit.

hunting phoenix got red and this was so much easier

Though I think the Polish Moria got a patch to stop the phoenix going crazy

hehe, think you have problems? try doing it ranged. i have red dragon badge from attempting phoenix but can hit most phoenixes

Just had the same thing today, phoenix 300 hp left and it went spec crazy, killed me early with fireball and used soundwave on two remaining peps, bad phoenix, this is y its called the block

yeah i know it was baby red but i was looking for phoenix and so it should be harder to kill not easier. and i have tweked the gear but if its going to have 2-3 12 hit rounds it doesnt matter what gear you have coz it will always kill you. fireball alone does 180-200+ dam x2 = 360-400 then add soundwave 8 hits 80-100 dam= 640-800 then its two nomal attacks thats a further 120-150 =240-300 all togther gives it 1240-1500 dam per round based on avg. that is quite rediclous for the amount of ppl you can bring with you.

so how come this didnt trip out

I hate the phoenix I agree 100% that special move should be reduced to 4 and yea you guys beat them that's great did ye farm them too??? did ye beat them on the lowest optimal lvl??? without someone with double your pts??? I bet not

i agree the silly pheonixs its took me time to do it on my old 1 well it hit me all the time or it done a special thing

red dragons should be 3rd and then pheonixs 4th

well am saying this because ive only had 3 succsufll phoenix expos and ive been trying since lvl 29 thats when i could start them. but now you got act 2 and boosted stats so you cant really justifie the thing having 12 attacks when most expo monsters dont come close to it or even have a garanteed hit. and most ppl my lvl (60) still dont have there badges. and the higher ups dont like doing them because they get nothing and bring bigger monsters with them. am not saying take there garunteed hit or even make them weaker just reduce the amount of attacks they do. i think thats quite resonable.

i think one of the reasons the game becomes boring is the fact you need to do expos to progress so you see the top lvl players getting strong on expos while your stuck on the same expo not getting anywhere. wouldnt be so bad if you could kill the thing but even that is a task in its self. yeah have a block but dont make the thing damn near impossable to kill. its wasting everyones poh blood and ppl and players time. or do i have to get luck and hope that a red comes so i can kill it and finlly do a hydra which is still easier than the phoeinx.

1: Exactly. You do see many players doing much larger expos. Why? Because they got their phoenix badge. They improved their stats and gear, try it. Out of interest, what are your stats anyway?

2: Sounds to me you want to get every badge on the first try. Yes I know, you said you've been trying since level 29, but come on you really expected to get a phoenix badge at that level?? I assume you weren't around/can't remember when Honour had to be earnt from sieges. People couldnt do an expo every 2nd day, some people got one every few weeks, but they didn't hold their hands up and say "I give up!"

3: Are you crazy? Hydra can have twice as much HP, has much higher defense and their agility and perception is higher as well.

am on about just to even kill it. once a phonix goes to below 1000hp thats when it trips out every round.

check top link for stats its the same one i use everytime.

i dont expect to get badge first time thats would be just stupid but to only ever have 3 kills from a phoenix out of all that time is a bit much. and i stopped hunting phoenixs for a while when saw i couldnt do them. but ive been close everytime i've tried since ive started again

and hydra is easier than a phoenix. i would prefur a hydra to a phoenix anyday. at least they die even if the person doesnt get badge.

yes i was around thoses days when expos were hard to get started and poh were only gained from seiges. i was ranked 110 once but lost my connection for a while and was lucky my account didnt get deleted

Well first of all get your instructor to level 5 (shouldve been the first tattoo you maxed) and use a 2 shot sniper, itll be much better than a HR

Also, look at the hp of the bird you posted

266 / 3732

A few more crits and it would be dead. I really don't see why you have posted a thread in Game System because you've had bad luck with an expedition monster.

not bad luck with one with all of them i wouldnt even say bad luck its the special attacks. its there attacks that i addressed. when i said its soundwave attack should be put down to 4. its that and its special trip out attacks which are wiping everyone out.

as for sniper rifle belive it or i hate them i keep missing lol

Look it happens. The fact is, and you know what it's going to come down to.

your gear can't be up to snuff, and you are a victim of the RNG. On my old character I got my phoenix second try, red screwed me over.... it's all about the RNG.

And I'm sure the mods agree.

the gear i use is up to snuff well (asfar as i can tell lol) it gives good def good perc and good dam. its the trip out of attacks that does it. even if it didnt trip out so much that would be good. thats why i havent said anything about its stats to get reduced. just the attacks of soundwave even if that got put to 6 not the 4 i said first. am not so much anoyned at not getting my badge just at lack of it not being able to kill it. and plebs expo is prime example of it triping out on specs.

as for the rng i dont care about it. heres my gear

Good Hat of Precognition (+1)
Cape of Death Sower (+5)
Good Amulet of Pilgrim (+1)
Titanium Signet of Genius (+5)
Titanium Signet of Wisdom (+5)
Good Shorts of Sun (+2)
Good Hunting rifle (+4)

and you probaly will say gear is crap

am hopfull about to get a hunters shirt of assasin soon and see if that will make a diffrence. if i do get i will change my hat for my good deadly hard hat of shephard

Well if special attacks are you only problem, its all been discussed before

Expedition Mobs

Its all been discussed before. Players thought phoenixes were waaay too hard and they would never get their badge, and now they're on Nobles, Twins, Medusas etc.

I'm closing the thread. You have had a bad streak of expos, everyone has the same problem now and then. Badges arent meant to be easy to come by, so dont expect expedition monsters to be easy Smile
